Zexplore Pre - Alpha 1.2.0 - Major Update!
Hello all, today we have a major update. Before we get to the release notes, there are a few things I would like to address. So, I haven't posted an update for about 3 weeks, and I think it's best to start doing 2 updates a month, 1 for minor things; Bug fixes, minor game play adjustments, AI tweaks, and menu adjustments. Then, the second update is the bigger one, adding major features, major game play adjustment, reworked systems, menu overhauls, and graphical improvements. Now onto the release notes.
_____* Changes Made To Existing Features_____
* Shotgun now shoots five bullets instead of three.
* You can now swap weapons with the [1], [2], and [3] keys.
* Medkits are no longer used when collected, to use medkit, press [4].
* Infection system has been modified, it is now consistent and lethal.
* Graphics for zombies have been "improved".
* Wood floor textures have been "improved".
* Main menu has been reworked and "improved".
* Player health, gold, and weapon UI has been "improved".
* Default sound volume has been lowered.
* Toxic zombies now spit three times every ten seconds, instead of one every ten seconds.
* Survivor AI has been slightly improved.
* Survivors will now run away from zombies when they can't see the player.
_____+ Added Features_____
+ There is now a visible inventory, press E to see ammo, medkits, and gold. Hover mouse over items for description.
+ Work on crafting, looting, and inventory management has been started on this update, see future notes for more information.
+ Added icon to inform player of when they are infected.
+ Added [Replay] button on death screen to let players get back into the action quickly!
+ Added "About" page for players that are curious about the project.
+ This game now comes with an install wizard, no more sifting through game files to play.
+ This game creates a shortcut on your desktop.
+ This game now has a logo!
+ Toxic puddles now cause infection.
_____- Removed Features_____
- Removed high score screen after death.
- Buttons for [Character Customization], and [Controller Support] have been hidden until Alpha 1.0, or sooner, but probably later.
- Support for Linux and mac have been discontinued for a while.
- Support for really weak pcs has also been discontinued for a while.
_____# Known issues / Bugs_____
# When you spawn by enemy survivors, they will not do anything for about ten seconds.
# Toxic puddles will briefly flash when they land, but only sometimes.
# When in a base you control, if you are at full health then it will constantly go from "100" to "101"
# Survivor AI still will not attack zombies unless they see the player, this is a surprisingly hard bug to squash.
# Zombies that see the player will sometimes stop following and just walk in straight forward.
# There are far more bugs, but they are either not significant enough to mention, or I cannot find them at this time.
